    I can empathize that mother's feelings. My heart literally hurts, viewing those pictures. I hope she is well.

    Quite moving. Poor kid ... sitting in the doctor's office crying while his mother kneeled down and the doctor sat to the side told it all for me.

    It was the progression of pictures of the kid. My heart couldn't take it. I think the images would stay with me forever. Wise.

    Gulp! The question I often ask of myself is "why look at painful and disturbing images if there is nothing I can do to alleviate the pain captured by the image?" For me, the answer is that it forces me to feel and reflect on my own humanness. This increases my willingness to help where there are opportunities.
