No way to tell the specific chance, but to answer the question in the title, yes, there is always hope.

Many people with SCI have neuropathic pain that feels like shooting, burning or electric shock type of sensations in their legs. This is not necessarily a predictor of neurologic return.

Do you have any areas of normal sensation (when someone touches you or sticks you with a pin) below the level of your injury? What is your ASIA type? What is the actual neurologic level of your injury (I see you listed C5-7, but is that your neurologic injury, ie, C5 on one side, C7 on the other, or are those the vertebrae you fractured)?

More information helps us to address your questions more completely.

There is always hope ... sometimes it is may be the only thing that helps in the short run of things.

The fact that you have some touch sensation is great, and since you are newly injured, there is a chance you may get more back. Do you have sensation at your anus? If so, you may be an ASIA B at this point. Never give up hope...it is what keeps people going many times!

Read this article by Dr. Young for information about the ASIA and how level and completeness of injury is determined. This tool is used internationally (not just in the USA):
