Cowboy poet/humorist to entertain at Farm Bureau's annual meeting

Harrison County Farm Bureau members will hold their annual meeting, Tuesday, Aug. 21, at 6:30 p.m., at the Logan Community Center. Staley's Food Service, Charter Oak, will cater the Windsor Chop meal with all the trimmings.
The business meeting will include ratification of directors and election of officers. Drawings for door prizes will also be held. Those attending are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for the Harrison County Food Pantry.
Entertainment for the evening will be Brooke Turner, a cowboy poet and humorist, from Clarinda.
Brooke Turner is an Iowa based entertainer who has used his music and poetry to reach the hearts of people throughout the country. Born near Anita, and now living near Clarinda, Turner has had a love of music and entertaining for many years, and within the past few years, has been recognized for his wonderful talent and ability to entertain audiences of any size. He takes advantage of every opportunity to perform his poetry and music --- from large national conventions to small county fairs. He has said it has truly been a privilege for him to perform at numerous cowboy gatherings across the United States. Turner recently was a featured performer at both Heber City Cowboy Festival (he was a featured performer on both the 2005 and the 2006 Heber City Cowboy Poetry Gatherin' CD) and the Cedar City Cowboy Poetry Festival. His popularity and following have grown steadily and he has been featured in numerous magazines and television shows both in the Midwest and across the nation.
