    syrinx question please.

    syrinx question please?
    what is a syrinx?
    can be saw having an mri or ct scan?
    can a syrinx increase the neuropain whithout loosing any functions?
    thank you.

    Here is some good information about syrinxes and syringomyelia:

    A syrinx can sometimes worsen neuropathic pain, but if it does, it does not usually wax and wane.

    A syrinx can be seen with MRI unless there is too much metal in the way. If so, then usually CT with delayed contrast is used to visualize the syrinx.

    Because of the risks of the surgery to correct a syrinx, surgery is rarely recommended unless you are loosing sensation and/or motor function above the level of your injury, and the loss appears to be increasing.

    thank you kld .i must do some tests to see why my neuropain increased so badly.
