    Favorite Summer Food

Since summer's almost here, what's everyone's favorite food? I think mine has to be a green salad and some fruit.

Ice cold seedless watermelon with fresh squeezed lime which gives it a great bright kick. Actually down here in FL you pretty nuch can grow all year round, we have a garden with toms, all color of peppers, squash, onions, eggplants, cuks....love it all. My fav is thick slices of tom on a good hearty wheat bread with a generous does of may, sea salt n fresh cracked pepper, yea baby. I also love soft summer fruits...umm...fresh fruit coblers........

Today is one of my twice weekly fast days, and y'all are killing me with your incredible descriptive powers of fresh foods. But you also give me menu ideas for tomorrow. Thanks!

Garden fresh is where it's at...I have a homegrown pineapple waiting to be married to a sweet mango in a blender ceremony with a dark rum toast.
Peppers, herbs and pineapples is all that is currently left in the garden.

Johnsonville Brats boiled in beer and onions, then slapt on the grill. My favorite! Along with a Macaroni salad and corn on the cob. Simple but good eats.

Stay safe my son. See you around thanksgiving!

Summer tomatoes #1. I really miss 'em in the "off" season. And my favorite summer sandwich? Bologna, tomato & mayo (I'm a southern boy).

Ditto some of the other posts: sweet corn, ripe peaches, watermelon.

BTW, I'm growing "maters" for the first time this year, in containers. So far so good, I have a little green one already. I will definitely vouch for Miracle Gro.
