Unhappy Toyota Sienna with Braun Conversion

    Hi Guys:

Well.... my hubby Don has had a 2005 Sienna with a fold-out ramp (Braun conversion) for a couple of years... and no end to the troubles with the door and ramp. The latest problem happened today... Don was at work and opened (by remote) the sliding door, ramp came down, Don went in. The door was sliding shut and FELL OFF IT's TRACKS! Unbelievable! Luckily, his pals at Lookheed were able to secure the door and it was repaired this PM. This is probably the 9th time in 6 months he has had to take this vehicle in for door and/or ramp problems.

Has anyone had problems with this van and conversion?

    Any feedback would be great.

    Thanks!

    Sieg

I have a 2004 van and they replaced my battery with a stronger one and replaced the motor in the door with a more powerful one. This was all through the van place were I purchased it. It was all done for free because it was somthing that I think Braun forgot.

Are you having problems with the door closing all of the way?
You live in denver, I live in Winter Park/Fraser

Were did you purchase the van?

    Hi Stevie!

Yep... we have had numerous problems with the door not closing all the way. We had the door motor replaced too. We got the van new from Morningstar Mobility a couple of years ago. The van is still under warranty so we have not had to pay anything but who knows.

Did you do your rehab at Craig?

That is great that you have not had to pay for any thing so far. Hope you can get it worked out before that ends. There is a point were it may be worth trading it in for a new one.

I got my van from Free Wheel Vans.

I was at Craig Aug 12 till Nov 22 of 2003.

    Thumbs up

    Hi,

I also have an 05 Toyota XLE with the Braun conversion.
I have not had any door problems.

    Good luck!!

I don't even fix my ramp and door any more. Something different would break every time. Someone else has to drive my van for me so they just push it open and pull the ramp manually.

Have any of you had any other problems out of the Sienna? I've noticed the resale value is higher than the Dodge, Pontiac and Ford.

I have an '05 sienna converted by IMS before the Braun buyout. I had the dead battery issue but since installation of the new wiring harness and a new battery I haven't had that problem. Yeah. I haven't had any problems with the door or the ramp. I only use the kneel once in a while and it always works.
