Let's change the Life forum into "Doom and Gloom" forum...or maybe even "Death"?

Maybe I'm a wee bit slap happy and need to get to bed, but my twisted sense of humor kind of made me chuckle finding the "Life" forum is kind of oxymoronical with all the doom and gloom in it. Let's petition that its name be changed to "Death"

<I can see that "Ban Andy" petition starting to make its rounds now, lol>

    Good night all

    I second that emotion.

Like you, I'm just kidding; the Life forum must deal with death and other fatalistic realities of being alive.

But then you knew that already, didn't you Andy?

Funny, those that appear brave and/or resolved to their fates, or believe in an eventual cure, or exude any sort of confidence or enjoyment of their lives get ripped for being frauds, their every word parsed and scrutinized; yet those that whine and cry about their plights and appear like soft noodles with no spines... uh, yeah, well anyway, they get ripped, too.

Ain't no pleasin' a righteous plegic with time on his hands, I tell ya...

i bet here's a good rendition of how a lot of us feel about ourselves when we have this happen to us. except for kramer, it's just a craggly face from smoking.

It's good when the grief of others is amusing, I guess. God knows it has to serve some sort of purpose, and it ain't no frikkin' fun.

    Ain't it though?

Good gods, haven't you ever heard of black humour? Not to mention the fact that there is a difference between understandable grief and pointless self-pity. Yes, you can go on and on about how no one can judge the pain of others (I'm usually the first one to point out that everyone's pain is their own), but you cannot deny the fact that there does exist a point where someone is just wallowing in self-pity and is doing nothing productive about it and sometimes those people are freakin' annoying.
