    decubitus ulcer question

Would it be contraindicated to use e-stim on a full-thickness decubitius (lateral malleolus) on a pt with a newly documented VRE of the wound and even more recent consult with a vascular surgeon resulting in a newly named diagnosis of “gangrenous left leg” with plans for surgical debridement and skin graft immediately following femoral endarectomy with balloon angioplasty?

This sounds llike a complicated pressure sore and I would consult your physician re using e stim.

When I took part in clinical trials with e-stim on wounds ... it's contraindicted with any infection, especially osteomyelitis. In fact, I was refused entry until I could prove that I no longer had osteo.
