    Question about power chairs

I was just wondering... Are power chairs generally narrower than manual chairs? My husband's manual chair is 28 1/2" wide at the widest point. Thank you in advance for your responses.

Yes, most power chairs are narrower (if both chairs have the same seat width) since the wheels are underneath the seat instead of outside the seat (to facilitate pushing). Of course if you have a lot of add-ons to the power chair such as elevating leg rests, etc. you may have a larger turning radius with a power chair than a manual chair, but this is very individual.
