My son has one hand/arm that is pretty much normal and one that has some movement, but it is pretty non-functional. When he takes Ambien to help him sleep, and it just starts to kick in, his bad hand actually becomes functional. I don't know why that would be and am hoping someone could shed some light as to how the Ambien is aiding in movement/function. Any ideas? He does have tone and spasticity in that arm and hand, and takes 40mg/day of Baclofen for it. It's too bad it is not working as well as the sleep med.
which he obviously can't take during the day.
