    Connecting to the internet

Every tine I go to Start and IE. My window comes up but the little window that I click to connect to the internet will not come up.

I have to go to my email and connect on it to get to the internet, Can anyone tell me whats going on? I hate it because I have to wait for emails to come through then get off of it and close it out then go to the internet.

The defaullt now adays is via a LAN connection, so it trys to go that way... I'm assuming you have dialup so i'll continue on that line.

Goto Control Panel -> Internet Options

    Now, click Connections Tab

Click the "Button" that says "Always Dial My Default Connection"

If your on DSL, then I can't help you.

You are correct, I am on dial up. Hate it but can't afford DSL.
I did what you said and it is on it already. I am going to call Dell and see if they can help.
    Thank you.

Hi, Mary. I hope Dell is able to help you, but they may tell you to talk with your ISP (Internet service provider).

    Keep us posted. Good luck.

I used to put a shortcut on the desktop to my dial-up networking icon in the control panel under the network settings folder. Clicking on this new shortcut dialed up my internet. You can also put it in your start up folder in the start button and have it dial-up when windows starts.
