Does cream of tartar have any side effects?

I have a jar of it from the supermarket and would like to try it and see if it reduces frequency of UTIs.
I am C-5-6 and use a condom catheter.

Cream of tarter is a commonly used food item. It is added to several things to help them maintain their form. It is added to pickles in the pickling process to help keep their crispness, and added to eggwhites when they are being whipped to help keep their form.

I have never heard of any effects caused by cream of tarter, and it is a product that has been used for many years. This is what I know about the stuff....others may be able to add more.

it leaves a sour taste in your mouth! For the 1st time last Sat., My urine was so cloudy you couldn't see through it. It continued to be full of residue. I took three doses of tartar and 3 cranberry tabs along with a ton of water. A few caths later and I was cleared up. Is this empiracal evidence, absolutelty not and make what you will of it. So far it has worked for me, that's all...

    1. Tartar sauce isn't made of cream of tartar.

    2. That is a terrible thing to do to good scampi!

What constitutes a dose? Someone mentioned a teaspoon full and a glass of water. Is that a dose? And what is the typical timing -- one/two/three doses a day?

Some elaboration would be great. Thanks.
