    question when posting links

    When posting links, how do you get the line to display description instean of the actuall link itself.

    ie this:

    instead of this:

    http://www.spywareinfo.com/xscan.php

    Just use the insert link thread tool.

    Or,

    Hi - If I understand you right, here is an easy way (a few words though);

    You can just copy the link in your example http://www.spywareinfo.com/xscan.php into a post just like that.

    Then just “copy or write” what you want “into it” like say spywareinfo like here below, just make sure not at the ends because that will ruin the link.

    http://www.spywa spywareinforeinfo.com/xscan.php

    Then, just remove the parts to the right and to the left as for the text you typed (or copied). And again, make sure you don’t remove the start and end points which is the real link, just practice here in this thread and you will get the grip of it.

    Thry this one;

    http://nab.broadcastnewsroom.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=101847

    Then type (or copy in); who agree (and example) into the link above. Then remove the rest to the left and the right on the link and see if the text “who agree” will stand alone as a link to your source of the original link. If it will not work, you probably have damaged the start or the end point in the hyperlink. If so, just try again and you will quickly se how it works.

    If it works it should be like this and also link the original source as the original link here in this example;
    who agree

    Hope it helps.

    Leif! Too confusing lol

    Here, try this: (these are steps for the insert link tool)

    1. Type your stuff
    2. Have link available - ie. copied
    3. Highlight the word(s) you want as link
    4. Click on the "globe" icon on toolbar (pop-up box will appear)
    5. Paste (or type in) link into pop-up box
    6. Hit "ok"

    Done!

    Not really, a plain recipe is a good thing, if not known to do stuff like that my recipe will work if followed. I know of other means of course, beside that I like to cower up sources in links - well have not done it so far but here is one =รจ Chick and her crew on the way; www.chikgoingtothekamchatkapeninsulaforspecialinte rested.com

    There, there, now Leif.

    Sipping Vodka latte atop a sub doesn't make for lazyones... just hearty souls who know how to warm up from the bitter landscape.

    BTW. my crew has an opening. You think you could convince that longtonguedbeauty to come along? You'd just have to warn her to keep her tongue retracted near any metal objects. Licking icicles off the side of the sub is a definite NO-NO.

    link example :
    [ URL="http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/customavatars/avatar2698_35.gif"]longtonguedbeauty[/URL]

    * (space inserted after first bracket "[ URL=" to break the link)

    Thanks all, I think Chick's way works the best.

    Here is the link to the page my daughter was using tonight for homework

    I can do it liefs way too
    but it's trickier not to break the link.

    PN .... Your method just gets me this not sure what i am doing wrong?

    Nope, that works too, just have to type what I want ON TOP OF the highlighted link. AH HA! (Before I couldn't figure out how to change tha actual http...... part to change to plain english.)

    THAnks everyone!
