Do ya want to quit smoking?

I did. I never thought they would come up with a pill but they did.

It is called Chantix. I smoked for about 5 days while taking it and decided it was time. I had no withdrawels. It completely stopped the nervious wreak gotta have one, craving. Now it didn't stop the habit or the I want a cig. But I found that I was smoking because I just wanted one not because I had to have one. I quit. The stuff really freaking works. Medicare don't pay for it so I figured I'd save a 100$. But you really have to want to quit.

Thanks for the input, Mary. Whatever works. It does require a prescription. We have also had a lot of success using Welbutrin for smoking cessation.

Worked for me too, Mary. A bit brutal on the tummy, I only took it a couple weeks.

So, are you ready for the ban on smoking in public in June?

For a little more incentive to stopping smoking if you have a SCI:

I'm dying to go someplace where I can hang with all the cool non-smokers, feel superior and look down my nose at the stinky unclean ones.

j/k. That's always been a problem, the funnest people were in the Smoker's Gulag.

One packet of Marlboro Lights a day.

keps. I think the smoking ban may do the trick as I spend a lot of time in bars and will be too lazy to go outside for a cigarette!

Edit: Half a pack, I stub them out with an inch and a half to go otherwise I burn my fingers.

I smoke the same as you. The solution is to use snuff instead. You know, small bags with tobacco inside. Here everybody has started with that. It even tasts nice, escpesially the one tasting liquorice Only do not swollow it together with the beer, believe me, that is not something you want to do.
