    Florida Vacation

My husband, who is a c6/c7 quad, and I are planning a trip to Florida around the middle to end of October. Currently we are looking at staying at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood. Could anybody offer suggestions on some good wheelchair friendly attractions. Would like to take sometime and go to the Everglades. Any help would be appreciated. This will be our first vacation in about 10 years so would like to make it memorible.

I live about 50 miles away from the Hard Rock. I don't go there to much but you picked a great hotel. A lot going on there. The hotel is connected to like a little city of upscale restuarants, bars and stores. The night life there is fantastic. Theres a stadium for concerts which they always have somebody worth seeing. You'll see celebrities there hanging out in the bars. Everything is accessable. They have slot machines and poker.

As far as the everglades, never been there. If you tell me what might interest you I might have a better idea what your looking to do.

My only recommendation is to go earlier, like Aug. or Sept. Why late Oct? Sometimes these Summer towns become ghost towns after Labor Day. Of course I know nothing about Hollywood, just do some checking to make sure that some activity is there.

No, just the opposite. Late oct. is when our season just starts picking up. The summer months everybody leaves and heads up north. It's to hot here in aug and sept..

I've never been there, but Hollywood, FL. is my AB *sister-n-laws* hot spot for vacationing. She has been there many times and just loves it there. She is determined to get me there someday. You will have to let us know how it goes....Enjoy!

I went to Hard Rock only once, for a show. Accessible seating is the best I ever experienced.

Another attraction close by is Butterfly World. The gardens, aviaries, background music, and colors are breathtaking. It would be a peaceful respite from the pounding of Hard Rock.

Definitely go to Broadwalk on the beach in Hollywood. It's a nice paved stretch with shops and restaurants. Also, "downtown" Hollywood is a nice afternoon stroll, and there are a couple great places to get ice cream. The Everglades are definitely close, but I'm not sure how accessible the airboat rides are. You'll be 30-45 minutes from Miami, so you could always go down to South Beach or check out the Design District or the Art Museum or Zoo. I hear Coconut Grove is nice, and I've never been there, but Monkey Jungle looks fun. You'll also be about 90 minutes or so from Key Largo and the Upper Keys.

I guess I'm too use to PCB's schedule.. after LD there, it is desolate!!! I've witnessed tumbleweeds.
