Come, my artistic people, your destiny awaits!

    I need help with colors.

My mom's going to paint my room any color I want. Those who know me best know that, overall, I'm a pretty boring guy and I love my earth tones.

I'm wanting to go with a rich, medium clay-like color, and that part's easy.

The difficulty: I'm going to have some designs stenciled on the walls as well, and so I need to find, with your brilliance, some good color combinations to use.

Suggestions? Pantones? I'll consider suggestions outside of my safe zone.

One example: I'm picturing my closet door in the rich clay, with the kanji symbols for earth, fire, water, air, and spirit going down the middle in a light tan or beige. Thoughts?

I wouldn't be against adding the kanji for woods in green.

    ...or maybe the seasons. Hrmm.

Being a purist, I suggest having your mom apply a varying thickness of textured clay directly to the walls.

Some carved potato "printers" of ships, planes, bombs and smiling clown faces could be dipped in oil paints and applied all over the walls and the closet door could have a drip fountain, timer activated blow torch, etc. installed for your "symbols".

I say go with a giant glow-in-the-dark spiral, starting in the center of the ceiling and wrapping around the walls.

How about the green in my office/sitting room shown in my avatar, I just love it. It's very serene.

edit: you can't see it well, attached bigger pic.
