Thread: CRPA Miracle-Victory Within Reach!

    CRPA Miracle-Victory Within Reach!

Holy cow, it's a miracle. I just received word that the CRPA has been marked up, it's out of committee and being considered for attachment to the NIH Appropriations Bill. We're closer than we've ever been before.

Please, call and make this happen! THIS WEEK! Unite 2 Fight Paralysis and CRF are preparing newsletters to send out, I hope Carecure will participate. I'll be posting the newsletters.

If you've ever done one single thing to make this happen, I hope you are feeling extreme pride. 3% of bills introduced are ever passed into law. We're closer than we've ever been. You know who you are, you know what you've done. Tonight, pop a beer and toast yourselves. Whether it passes or not, you've earned it!

Below are the numbers of the leaders that CRF says we need to call:

    Representative Joe Barton (R-TX): 202-225-2002

    Representative Roy Blunt (R-MO): 202-225-6536

    Representative John Boehner (R-OH): 202-225-6205

    Representative Nathan Deal (R-GA): 202-225-5211

    Representative John Dingell (D-MI): 202-225-4071

    Representative Dennis Hastert (R-IL): 202-225-2976

    Representative Steny Hoyer (D-MD): 202-225-4131

    Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA): 202-225-4965

    Liz-

They're talking about attaching it to the appropriations bill which HAS to be passed during the lame duck session, although no funds will actually be appropriated until the 110th (January).

Blahblah, I don't fully understand. The fact that it is out of committee and even being considered is so huge, now we need to get it onto the radar of those who have never before heard of it, i.e. everybody that's not on those committees!

I'm not kidding here, it is so time to make noise. Bostondad's call-in, coinciding with the grassroots visits, must have made a huge impact. But they were directed at the committee heads. They did their job, got it out of committee.

Seems like it's always time for another push, doesn't it? Honest to God, though, this is the first time it's ever gotten this far. Maybe this IS possible!

Well done to you, fellow advocate!

I wish we were all in DC, drinking beer. If this is as far as it gets (God forbid) we pushed it a long long way. Celebrations are called for.

The first thing I did when I got the news was call Leo. He's an old hand at this advocacy stuff. He summed it up pretty well when he said...

    F**kin' A!

Great and good news, but don’t celebrate too much here now before you are over the finishing line. Still, I think this requires if true a lill oneJ Cheers, god job folks! And, much important, if this is correct as written above here, this is the time to push real hard to tip it over the finishing line. But Bet’, is there a link to the neutral press as for this news? Great anyway.

    Smile Holy Cow

    betheny,
Lets get this on every thread so that grassroot advocates here on CC can spread the word and make the so important calls and spread the word through email lists etc.

I am already forwarding the alert to the sites I contacted with the National Call in. Please everyone send the Alerts, all of them to family and friends an ask them to call. WOW

Great work everyone but like Leif said lets get it over the goal line.
