Holee Shith, Batman! I just finished watching the finale two minutes ago. Nothing they have done comes anywhere close to this season, and especially tonight's finale.

Loved the "twist", even though I also saw it coming (someone was just too happy and at peace driving away in the night) -- and they tied it in nicely with back stories and realizations made tonight. I'm not likely to get the images from the final scene out of my head anytime soon, though.

This opens up a whole slew of ideas for Season 5 though ... ANYTHING GOES NOW!

BEST EPISODE EVER!! The ending totally surprised me. How much longer until next season? I'll be counting the days.

Make the best out of today because yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come. Nobody knows that better than those of us that have almost died from spinal cord injury.

Hip Crip, It's almost 24 hours since I saw the finale and I am still seeing some of the images in my head! I know they are going to bring back other good shows to fill in the time till Dexter returns, but I am SO ready to see where they are going to go from here.

That had to be the most well written show on tv this year.

I thought Dexter was just going to turn and run and hide ... right up until the last ten minutes.

They talked a lot about Deb and her 'gut feelings' this season. Should be interesting in Season 5!

Anyone who hadn't seen this season of Dexter and plans on catching it later on DVD and is worried about reading something that would spoil a surprise for them really shouldn't be reading this thread. That said, I sure am going to miss Arthur Mitchell. I was hoping he could get away somehow and be part of the next season. As for the last scene, I just see that putting a lot of guilt on Dexter. In the next season I got a gut feeling Deb is going to find out Dexter is a serial killer.

I totally agree. What's the point of a water cooler show if you have to wait a year to talk about it? I feel kinda bad now for trash-talking Rita over the years.
