Amy Bull lost the use of her legs years ago after a car accident.

But she certainly hasn’t lost the ability — or will — to write.

Bull, a North Tonawanda resident, recently released her second book of poems, “My Inner Strength: More Poems of Faith and Hope.” She is also hard at work on her third book and a children’s picture book of bible stories.

Bull was in a car accident in 1999. She last had use of her legs in March 2001. Bull had spasms, and it took a while for doctors to properly diagnose her spinal cord injury.

She also had a neck injury in a previous car accident and surgery for a brain aneurysm.

Recounting these ailments, Bull just laughs.

“God had a reason to keep me around, and I believe this is it,” she said. “I am healed in the way the Lord wants to heal me.”

Bull and her husband, Bill, became Christians before Amy had surgery for her aneurysm. Amy’s faith keeps her going, she said.
