Does anyone use any rental assistance vouchers or section 8?

I was wondering if any of you use section 8 or some kind of voucher that helps you with rent? Is there any database out on the Web to see by city or zip code which apartment buildings will accept the voucher or section 8? Thanks.

    Hi Tekniko,

Your best bet would be to contact the closest Independent Living Center in your area and ask them about housing options. They are the experts in this field and are there to help you find housing. And usually with a smile.

You can find their database of office locations HERE.

Here is one way of searching but I would not count on HUD to maintain a thorough list. I think the ILC sggestion above is a good one.

This looks intersting though I am not familiar with California housing :

Thanks:-) Will have to look into ILC because I have until January 20, 2007 to find a place. The search is really frustrating because all the two bedrooms I find where they accept section 8 seem to be upstairs. I hope I can find a house instead. The good thing about it is that I can get extensions pretty easily being disabled until I find a place.
