    Canary Islands

Hi there I have seen that there are many posts on the Canary Islands and would just like to add what a fantastic set of islands they are!

I have now visited all seven of them which was my ambition since visiting my first one back in 1995, with my favourite being Lanzarote.

We have always book our own holiday rental villa or ground floor apartment when visiting the the islands and found our last villa on:
    Canary Islands Holiday Rentals

Wheelchair accessible properties are easy to located on the above website as each property displays the standard wheelchair logo.

For anyone interested in a particular island the following sites can be used:
    Lanzarote - Lanzarote Holiday Rentals

Gran Canaria - Gran Canaria Holiday Rentals

For anyone who has a favourite town they wish to stay in on the four major islands mentioned above this company has some small satellite web sites. My favourite town on Lanzarote is Playa Blanca and one can take the wheelchair all the way around the front promenade without any problems and most other places too!

If any of these place are your favourite town then simply go to these sites which will just display properties for these towns only:

    India

I just saw this and wanted to share in case anyone was interested in India trip:

"This is about a travel company that a group of people with disabilities have recently started. Called Himalya on Wheels (HoW!), we offer tour programmes which includes people on wheel chairs. This is a first of its kind in India and we are happy to share this information with you. Please find attached the brochure of HoW!
We would be happy to know of the possibilities of promoting tourism for all.
Needless to say, we would also love to have you visit Ladakh, as your next destination!
Looking forward to hearing from you.
    Cheers

thanks for the great information. I'm from Ireland, high quadriplegic but thinking of travelling to the Canary Islands in November for a one-week break. is there any island in particular you would recommend? I've never been to any of them before but would like somewhere quite lively and accommodation to sleep a minimum of four. any other tips?
