A new video, funded with a grant from the PVA's Education and Training Foundation, and made at the Seattle VA SCI Center is now available for training people with SCI and their care providers in proper techniques for bowel care.

The video takes a humourous approach to this sensitive topic, but has lots of valuable information. It also shows (in graphic detail) an actual bowel care regimen, including a technique for doing digital stimulation (there are several differing methods, but this one is fine). We think it is excellent for teaching both new staff on our unit and PCAs for our clients.

It has recently won an award:

It is available through several sources for a very reasonable cost.
