To generate the list, we used a combination of factors including income, Web references as calculated by Google (nasdaq: GOOG - news - people ), press clips as compiled by Lexis/Nexis, TV/radio mentions from Factiva and the number of times a celebrity's face has appeared on the cover of 26 major consumer magazines. Earnings estimates are for June 2005 to June 2006 and are dollars earned solely from entertainment income. Management, agent and attorney fees have not been deducted.
anyone else see a problem here? what kind of man hours did it take for this foolish list, that only 5% of the population cares about? i was guessing high too..

I think more than 5% of the population cares about celebrities, unfortunately. Paris and afew other blonde numbskulls are on the list, but not the likes of Julia Roberts or Jack Nicholson?

Besides Oprah (her Angel Network charity and South African school for girls project), Tom Cruise (his money goes towards Scientology) and Howard Stern (he has a foundation for the homeless in New York) ... what do the other celebs do?

The fact that Paris Hilton made that list at all is an abomination!

i know, i was being facetious.. although 95% of those celebs are pompous, i guess ppl. want to know who/what/when/where, and why..? i don't get it.. the list was money well spent..
