Its a Futaba that i modify w/handle and change the internal wiring to work for quads. These are high quality radios.

hey guys...just saw this thread. jim just bought a monster truck... E-MAXX. the truck was pricey but it will go over anything and is as fast as gas...30+mph the truck came with radio a controller. dad was going to change it out with one of his futaba radios from his airplanes, but when he opened the truck there were too many wires; he just didn't feel like foolin around with it.

any way...the radio that came with the truck jim didn't think he'd be able to use. it had a trigger and steering wheel...dad did some modifying to it and jim uses it fine.

as for the futaba radios...dad has been using them for 20+ yrs...good quality. as for price...i think when u get into airplanes they r a bit steep, but using them with cars they do have resonable radios. the one dad bought was $49 and change.

Radio control cars are a lot of fun. I use a single stick controller, rather like an electric wheelchair joystick. It is actually meant for a plane but it works brilliantly for people who can't move their fingers.

i add a switch to work the 3rd channel for reverse wich requires rewiring the 3rd to the 1st channel. works like the switch on tmaxx and revo controllers. then i drill and tap out for extension and t-handle. i tried the standard controller like above but i could not steer it good. with the handle and extension my hand does'nt loose grip since i have no finger movement.
