Thread: Which cushion would give you more protection?

Which cushion would give you more protection?

Which of these two cushions would give someone who has a higher risk of skin problems the more protection? The contour Quattro or the Quattro high-profile?

The answer really depends upon the individual....Some people do better on one cushion and some do better on the other...PERSONALLY, I prefer the Roho Quadtro Low Profile. I have a High Profile in my van, purely b/c I need the extra height to see over the dash/hood(i'm short and the van seat is low, I haven't gotten around to pulling it out and putting height spacers in yet). Some people recommend having a pressure mapping done by a seating clinic...I've never had one done, don't even know of where I could have it done here, but w/the probs that you've discussed I would think that you might want to look into it.

Yha, definatly map..... a low profile has less cushion,so if your boney, there is a good possibility of bottoming it out.

Unless you are locked into ROHO as the only option, I would check out http://www.ridedesigns.com/

I'm in the process of changing my chair (and my J2 Deep Contour seat + Jay back) and the seating clinic suggested that I look into the cushion above as someone who has a higher risk of skin problems.

BTW, I don't mean to hijack / change the focus (ROHO options) of the thread.

Out of the two, I'd go with the high profile because it would be much more difficult to bottom out on it. You don't want to bottom out.

again I'd get mapped. After a red scare (that turned out not from pressure) I was mapped.

My best cushion 100.00 piece of 2 inch foam that comes with your chair!

Roho's. jays all showed RED spots. 100.00 foam...all blue and light blue so everyone's ass is different!
