    Question Will Medicare/Medicaid pay for mouthstick?

    Has anyone ever had a mouthstick payed for by Medicare/Medicaid???

    A long time back I had one an OT made while I was going to therapy covered by medicaid.

    A lot depends upon how the justification is written.

    If they write that you need one to play on the computer or read, you most likely won't get it. If they write that you need it in order to dial a phone in an emergency, or put the head of your bed up in an episode of autonomic dysreflexia, it is more likely to be covered. MEDICAL NECESSITY is the key...so be sure your OT or whomever is ordering it for you knows their stuff and does it right.
