My memory is terrible lately, so I save most everything. Emails, and PMs here and on other boards save automatically, as someone said, it;s easier to save than delete. IMs I copy and save deliberately if there is something there I will want to know later, haven't figured out how to log them automatically. I find lots of times I am searching old threads here too.

Of course, I may have already posted this before ......

do you manually do "File-->Save" for each IM conversation, or is there a way to automatically do it?

you can set your settings(actually I believe that it's the default setting in yahoo, aim, and Adium{a Mac client that combines all the services} ) to automatically log your conversations.....mine are automatically logged...if there's something that I want to specifically save for quick access like an address or phone number, I copy and save into a notepad text file...

I don't know if this is relevant but here in the UK it's illegal to record a 'phone conversation unless you inform the other party, at the start of the call, that the recorder is running.

I delete all spam and keep the others.

I don't delete them, but I don't consciously save them either...

I just read them and move on.
