How normal is this for a UTI ??

Is this normal for a UTI??
My son for the last two nights has been soaking the bed (urine). On top of that -cathing every 4 hours. I took a urine sample to the doctor and was given SMZ/TMP DS 800-160 TAB. I was told that it will take a few days to get urine tested to make sure he is taking the correct antibiotic. Is he having bladder spasms? I took his temp and it was 99.1.
Any help with this question would be most appriciated.. THANKS!!

Gary's Mom.....I just finished same stuff two days ago for my UTI, SMZ is a "sulfa" drug... I was still having spasms so I thought it wasn't strong
enough to lick the UTI...as they usually give me Levaquin.

Doc. appt. today and said my urine was clear but they are sending to the lab and they gave me "urelle" to control my spasms. They will know on Monday and would rx a different antibotic if needed.

I too was "tinkling" every hour on the hour around the clock and I'm on ditrophan 10 mg at night too....to help me retain but it was like I was
taking nothing...so yep,,,I'd say the flooding is normal.

i leak like crazy when i have a uti. constantly cathing(i have urgency and fullness sesnsations with or without a uti) and leaking. cuts back on the sleep!

i also get a fever as high as 101 if it's a bad one. i also spasm even if i'm lying absolutely still or even in my sleep. fatigue and aching is common also.

Yea ... I figure the waterproof liners keep your skin from breathing, but better than changing the whole bed!

i totally agree, as long as my skin is ok, and thanks btw for the smiley comment in the other thread.

    sorry to hijack!

i use baby powder to clean up better after i wipe myself off with babywipes. helps keep the skin dry. definitely showers after all that!

    no problem

i'd look into a mattress cover for under the sheets, saves the bed.

my mom wished she bought two to rotate when i have an unexpected issue!
