Almost Cut End Of Foot Off (pics)

I was cutting my grass as usual. My mower is self propelled but wasn't going fast enough so I was giving an extra push to speed things up.

The front of the mower hit a root causing the mower to come to an abrupt stop.

    Attachment 9923

As most of you know, there is a little delay from the time you let go of the joy stick on the power chair to the time it stops. This caused the mower to lift in the back and consequently jamming my foot into the blade.

    Attachment 9924

The blade clipped the end of my shoe before I had a chance to stop. Yes I was very lucky.

Now that I told my story I am going to go to the other room before the bashing starts.

YEOUCH!!!! I'm glad that you aren't severely injured....

Might I recommend that you save up some money(if ya don't already have the funds) and purchase a Cub Cadet Zero Turn mower..... www.cubcadet.com 'Tis a lil bit expensive on the outset, but consider the cost of losing them toes....I LOVE my Cub Cadet Zero Turn mower.... speaking of...my yard needs some attention...lol

    HOLY SHITBALLS!

Your one lucky dude. I would have been panicing until that mower was well away from me and turned off. Did it bruise your toes at all? The pics made the description perfect.

Ouch!!! you almost totally ruiend a good pair of new balance running shoes.

Maybe do like Brokenwing said get a rider or better yet get some steel toe boots. LOL.
I never tried to push mow out of a chair but I do alot of weed eating and after an hour or so I blend in I am so covered with grass.

Might even build you a gaurd or shield for your foot plate. Man,just think the hospital bill would have paid for lawn crew for two or more years.
