Sorry the photos are so huge, I'm clueless on how to shrink them. Moderator, feel free to do so if you know how.

1st photo, taken from bedroom door
2nd photo, taken from inside the bathroom
3rd photo, tile roll-in shower (much bigger than shown)
... didn't get a photo of the lift going all the way to the jacuzzi tub.

This has made my life so much easier. To everyone who urged me to do this, YOU WERE SO RIGHT!!! It set us back $17K total including all the construction required to get it in.

Glad you are liking it. Looks neat and easy to manuever.

Thanks for the pics. I need to investigate a lift like yours. Our shower chair is the same model , but I'm not finished with tiling the new toll-in shower, so it's still unused.

zilla, just curious as to why you guys made the lift go from the bedroom into the bath? i have a ceiling lift too, but i go from my bed into the shower chair right beside the bed, then my dad pushes me into the shower..

It runs all that way so I don't have to push him, and because you can't see in the photos, but at the very back of the bathroom there is a big jacuzzi type bathtub and the lift takes him all the way there and I can drop him right in the tub. There is no way he could get in the tub otherwise. So he enjoyed his first bath in about 10 years after it was installed.

It seems like it might be a fun ride too! 17K sounds so expensive but if it makes your life easier it's worth every penny.

How many rides has your son taken in it so far?

LOL Bob - you know 5 year olds eh? I have snookered him into thinking (and actually, I think it may be true...) that one must weigh 100 pounds to use it. So it has the double positive effect of A) keeping him out of the lift and B) it heartily encourages him to eat his dinner!
