Our Bodies Ourselves Call for Stories New Childbirth Book!

Our Bodies Ourselves is creating a new book on pregnancy and childbirth, and we need your stories. We are especially looking for the stories of women with disabilties.

What do you wish you had known before your pregnancy? What helped you most when you gave birth? How did pregnancy or having a new baby affect your relationships? If you could do it over again, what would you do the same? Is there anything you would do differently? Please tell us.

There are two ways to participate: You can go directly to the Our Bodies Ourselves web site at HYPERLINK "http://www.ourbodiesourselves.org/" www.ourbodiesourselves.org and under “what’s new,” click on “Childbirth Book: Share your story” and write your story there. Or you can e-mail your story to Elana Hayasaka, at elana@bwhbc.org.

Please share your story as soon as you can; submissions received after March 1, 2006, will have less chance of being used. Stories chosen for the book will be used anonymously.

It is critical to the integrity of the book that we get a wide variety of input and personal experiences. One of the cornerstones of the OBOS series is the frank and detailed personal experiences that are threaded throughout the books. We hope you will be able to help us out.

For more information, you may write to publications program assistant Elana Hayasaka at elana@bwhbc.org or call her at 617-451-3666, ext. 15.

Thanks! We look forward to hearing from you!
