I thought some of the personal stories were pretty compelling.
My personal take on the film was influenced by the fact that I was at Kessler with a bunch of the people in the film and I got a charge out of seeing them again - especially the therapists.

The US had never lost an intl. competition in like 11 years...So I'm sure they were banking on the team continuing their winning ways....

So, an hour before it comes on, I'm hanging with friends. A woman in the group announces to everyone "Murderball" is a movie about paralyzed people who use wheelchairs and compete in Special Olympics. Yeah, I know. Straight out of the movie, but there she was saying it.

She wanted to argue with me. I put an end to it. No argument. She was absolutely incorrect.

I'm sitting there, my azz firmly planted in my chair thinking, "So, she thinks everyone in a chair is Special Olympics' material? That would include me, right???" What the hell?

Ab's ... God of Quads, help 'em. Now.

But you are "Special" - just not in that way!

    Watch the Oscars Sunday night...
"Murderball" was nominated as Best Documentary Feature.
    The other nominated films are:
    “Darwin’s Nightmare”
“Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room”
    “March of the Penguins”
    “Street Fight”
I think the penguins will win.

I am thinking March of the Penguins or Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, but murderball has no shot other than the proverbial sympathy vote which I seriously don't expect
