    25 Years Ago Today

A sick person took from us, a representative of peace, love and human kindness.

    Quote:
    Imagine there's no heaven,
    It's easy if you try,
    No hell below us,
    Above us only sky,
    Imagine all the people
    living for today...

    Imagine there's no countries,
    It isnt hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
    No religion too,
    Imagine all the people
    living life in peace...

    Imagine no possesions,
    I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
    A brotherhood of man,
    Imagine all the people
    Sharing all the world...

You may say Im a dreamer,
but Im not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one.

    We miss you, John..

Wonder what his thoughts or effects would have been on issues today.

I think he would have been against the war in Iraq, obviously. I also think he would have been very vocal against the American President.

Wonder what his stance would have been on ESC?
Roses are red. Tacos are enjoyable. Don't blame immigrants, because you're unemployable.

At the risk of being presumptuous, I think his stance would have been summarized by the last stanza to "Imagine".

I loved the way he walked. It was as if he was on air.
    Peace John.

I remember my 17th birthday, 1980, well as John was taken from us.

At the time however, I was living in NJ then, if I remember correctly that although JL's death was a big event there was also the story around the same time about the vigilante subway gunman - Bernie Goetz who was shooting thugs that tried to rob him.

For some reason although JL's death is much more remembered today, at the time it didn't resonate nor have the same impact as the terrorism on the NY subways - at least in my mind. Today its obviously a much different story.

Rest in peace John and thank you.
