    Bowel procedure while traveling

I am a para T4 comlete. When I travel even for a few days in a hotel I drag along by shower chair for access for the bowel procedure. Can anyone give me advise on an easier way they have found to handle the problem? Thanks

I've never traveled since my accident but, while 'im at college and i have to drop a duce, I learn foward like my head is almost between my legs and I reach around to digi stim from behind, not between the legs or anything, it works pretty good!

everyone reacts differently to fleets enemas, but if i need to do a quick bp, that's what i use, but like 12 hours later i have to do another bp sometimes...depends how much the tank's holding

if you think your skin can take sitting on a regular toilet for a quick bp then good but if not i'd just do it in bed with chucks pads.

I use a padded/raised/side cut Lumex toilet seat. It clamps onto a regular toilet bowl. I use it at home and when I travel. You can unscrew the clamps from the seat and throw the thing in a regular suitcase or duffel. It does take up a bit of room, but a lot less than a commode chair.

    Great topic Semper fi,

I'm a T-2 Complete, and I've always taken the shower chair along as well when I travel. I would love to leave it at home, but It works great as a luggage holder. I just load it up and push both chairs where I need to go. I know it sucks, but so do pressure sores and BP's in bed. YUCK.

That lumex seat sounds like the way to go. I have one but have never used it. With the comode chair you know that you will always have a place to sit and do your business. When I stayed at a Holiday Inn in Pittsburg Pa last summer, the room was supposed to be "accessable." It did have a roll in shower, but the comode was nestled between two lovely privacy walls. The only way to transfer onto the commode would have been a straight on, 180 degree transfer which is out of my league for now. If I would have only had the Lumex seat, i'm not sure what I would have done.

and always take the comode chair camping with you...it's like a portable outhouse. Drop your drawers and leave a steamer!! You could just eat MRE's and poop a football once or twice a week. LOL I'm sure you know what I'm referring to...
