Your goal is prevention of pressure ulcers. There is no "best" mattress that always prevent pressure ulcers. Preventing ulcers is a combination of good skin care- keeping clean, dry, checking skin at least 2 times a day - morning and evening, pressure reliefs while in the chair, building up a turning tolerance slowly to get your skin used to sleeping in one position. Laying prone at night to stretch out your hips and tottaly getting off your backside also helps overall skin maintenance.

Since my injury 7 years ago I've only had a Select Comfort mattress... an adjustable air mattress. Since we have moved to our new home we now have a Select Comfort adjustable head and foot controled... I have not had one pressure ulcer ever!!

I'm t12 complete and have never scheduled a time to turn in the middle of the night. I sleep on my stomach and turn occasionally on my side to get comfortable. We have an Englander matteress. It's made with rubber latex and memory foam. Very comfortable. It conforms to the body and advertizes that it relieves pressure points.
You might want to try one out.
