    Building a webpage

    I'm starting a nonprofit foundation to raise money for research and need to build a website.

    Can ya'll give me some pointers.

    I have'nt done such work in a few years. I think one basic lesson I learned (and I'm not sure that this still applies) - write for Netscape or Open source browsers. Microsoft products seem to be too forgiving, so if you author with Frontpage let's say, things will look fine until you try to run site through other browsers.
    I think there's still a product called Homesite which was an excellent HTML tool - it was part of company that produced ColdFusion. Coldfusionwas bought by Macromedia and now that company belongs to Adobe!
    I'm personally trying to ramp up with Flash 2004 - I'll try to keep you posted as I gain proficiency - see if I can be of any help.

    How I learned, I took basic HTML pages, viewed it's source code, copy code, paste into my html editor, carefully read code,looked at original web page, replaced text with my own and url codes with my own images.

    PN is absolutely correct. IE/Mozilla/Firefox are the browsers most people use. If you have any specific questions, feel free to send me a private message. I project manage things like - websites.

    I am just using macromedia dreamweaver mx. SEems to be working fine so far.
