    Abilities Expo 2005

    The Abilities Expo is coming to Metro Detroit, August 26-28, at the Novi Expo Center

    and Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (RIM) has a limited supply of FREE tickets to

    the event.

    The Abilities Expo is the one show for independent and assisted living products and services. Only at Abilities Expo will you be able to spend hours on the exhibit floor, testing and comparing products and services offered by state of the art exhibitors.

    Abilities Expo also offers a full line up of consumer and professional workshops, offered by leading individuals in the healthcare, education, and retail fields. Staff from the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan will be presenting two workshops at the Expo. On Friday, August 26, from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Cheryl Angelelli, director of marketing at RIM and 2-time Paralympian will be presenting a workshop entitled “Sports and Disability.” On Saturday, August 27, from 1:00-2:30 p.m. Bill Thornton, senior physical therapist for RIM’s Center for SCI Recovery, will be presenting a workshop entitled, “Creating New Connections: High Intensity Rehab for Spinal Cord Injury.”

    New Outpatient Site Opens in Wixom

    On July 18, 2005, RIM will open its newest outpatient therapy center in Wixom. Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan Wixom Center will be located inside Total Sports Complex at 30990 Wixom Rd. The new center will provide physical therapy, orthopedic therapy and sports medicine rehabilitation services. Evening hours are available, and RIM accepts most major insurances.     When we went last year, they accepted photocopied tickets too. So there's really no limit on the tickets, you just have to get your mitts on one and make as many as you need.
