Olympic Exhibition Wheelchair Race Finals Will Air on NBC on Sunday, August 22, at 10 A.M. Eastern; Invacare Corporation's Team Invacare Will Feature Prominently in the Races

ELYRIA, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 19, 2004--The 2004 Olympic Exhibition Wheelchair Race finals, the 1,500-meter men's race and the 800-meter women's race, will be televised on NBC on Sunday, August 22, at 10 a.m. Eastern. Half the athletes will race in Invacare Top End racing wheelchairs, either as representatives of Invacare Corporation's Team Invacare or as consumers of Top End racers.

The men's 1,500-meter wheelchair race will include Team Invacare's Kurt Fearnley of Australia and Jeff Adams of Canada, who are racing in Invacare Top End wheelchairs. They are among eight men who qualified for the final event in Greece during trials in Atlanta in July.

Five members of Team Invacare are among the eight world-class racers who qualified for the women's 800-meter race, including Louise Sauvage of Australia, Edith Hunkeler of Switzerland, Chantal Petitclerc of Canada, Diane Roy of Canada, and Cheri Blauwet of the United States. In addition, Christy Dawes-Skeleton of Australia will be competing in a Top End racer.
