What a bunch of f**king idiots! They can't use Segways because they aren't FDA approved?

    a) What the hell does the FOOD and DRUG administration have to do with adaptive devices anyway, and

    b) Since their blessing is so "important", why the hell don't they approve them? ... and

    c) Why does Disney use the FDA as an excuse for their stupid policy?

If the damn things didn't cost so much, I'd use one and be pissed if I couldn't use it in a place like that.

Maybe Bush could cut some of the fat from his budget by eliminating the FDA, huh? Then the FDA employees could get McJobs at Disneyworld

I'm just trying to figure out exactly what use a Segway would be to me and many other people with SCI, seeing as I can't stand, and you stand on it. Now you put a Segway together with a standing frame, and I'd probably buy one...heh.

Stupidity is not a handicap. Please park elsewhere.

yes segways in san fransico and most likely in nyc are by law banned on sidewalks.
as bicycles are also illegal on the sidewalks in nyc, unless the rider is 14 or under. segways would have to be operated in the street, the same as bicycles.
they are rather big and their top speed is quite fast for a sidewalk.
people already go crazy due to fatalities and accidents from bike riders on sidewalks, with the illegal operating of bicycles on nyc sidewalks

I agree with Disney on this one..
There are masses of people in these parks..
alot of children. Who ultimately is responsible if you hit a child you don't see
on your Segway? They are in the end.

Rollerblades and skates are also outlawed..
They are a very handicap accessible group.
But they are responsible for all the people
    in the parks.

If you don't want to use a chair or scooter
    during your visits...don't visit.
This is very unfair to the business to force
    such a change in policy.
    This is their call.

    The teenagers would
love to rollerblade through these parks also..should this be allowed? This one is the handicapped being ego self serving and is wrong IMO.

    Go ahead throw the tomatoes.

There are power standing wheelchairs PB, you need to go to an Abilities Expo and check them out.
