    mobility

This may be a silly question; Is there anything available now that will help me stand or walk any, including braces, implants, whatever? I apparently have a T11/T12 complete burst fracture (ie: apparently a severed cord) I have no feeling/spasms/zilch below the front bikini line & none below the waist in the rear. So what are my options for now?

Your injury sounds similar to my daughter's: she is a T12-L1. She is 18 months post-injury, and she walks with braces and canes. What do your therapists say about your potential to walk? If they're not optimistic, speaking for myself, I'd say to find some other therapists.

    Braces for walking

These devices should be custom fit by an Orthotist. Talk to your Physical Medicine doctor (Physiatrist) about getting them. He/she should refer you to a physical therapist for evaluation. You will need good upper body strength, control of your abdominal muscles and a strong will to walk before your PT will suggest them.

    Good luck!!
