    Smoking and bone healing

I am wondering about bones healing, in my case vert fusion with bone morphogenic protein layed down (if that even matters) and smoking.

Is it nicotine that screws with fusion or is it something else? Would smoking weed have a negative effect on bone fusion? Weed is the root of all evil, btw

Using tobacco products (smoking, dipping, chewing) definately can both impair bone healing and increase the rate of osteoporosis. Not sure if it is the nicotine or other tobacco ingredients, and not sure anyone has done a study on bone healing and MJ.
