Oh Max rocks my socks...I love those songs in your profile, awesome. Lets see some of my favourites.

    "What It's Like" - Everlast

We've all seen a man at the liquor store beggin' for your change
The hair on his face is dirty, dread-locked, and full of mange
He asks a man for what he could spare, with shame in his eyes
"Get a job you f**kin' slob," is all he replies
God forbid you ever had to walk a mile in his shoes
'Cause then you really might know what it's like to sing the blues

Then you really might know what it's like...
Then you really might know what it's like...
Then you really might know what it's like...
Then you really might know what it's like...

Mary got pregnant from a kid named Tom that said he was in love
He said, "Don't worry about a thing, baby doll
I'm the man you've been dreaming of."
But 3 months later he say he won't date her or return her calls
And she swear, "God damn, if I find that man I'm cuttin' off his balls."
And then she heads for the clinic and
she gets some static walking through the door
They call her a killer, and they call her a sinner
and they call her a whore
God forbid you ever had to walk a mile in her shoes
'cause then you really might know what it's like to have to choose

    Chorus

I've seen a rich man beg
I've seen a good man sin
I've seen a tough man cry
    I've seen a loser win
    And a sad man grin
I heard an honest man lie
I've seen the good side of bad
    And the downside of up
    And everything between
    I licked the silver spoon
    Drank from the golden cup
    And smoked the finest green
I stroked the fattest dimes at least a couple of times
    before I broke their heart
You know where it ends, yo, it usually depends on where you start

I knew this kid named Max
He used to get fat stacks out on the corner with drugs
He liked to hang out late
he liked to get shit-faced and keep the pace with thugs
Until late one night there was a big gun fight and Max lost his head
He pulled out his chrome .45, talked some shit, and wound up dead
Now his wife and his kids are caught in the midst of all of this pain
You know it crumbles that way
at least that's what they say when you play the game
God forbid you ever had to wake up to hear the news
'Cause then you really might know what it's like to have to lose

Then you really might know what it's like...
Then you really might know what it's like...
Then you really might know what it's like...to have to lose

Long John Baldry/Nicolette Larson - "Black Girl"

Black Girl Black girl don't ya' lie to me
Tell me where did you sleep last night
"In the pines in the pines where the sun never shines
And I shivered the whole night through"

Black Girl - C'mon Maggie girl
    Oh where will you go
I'm goin' where the cold wind blows
    "You caused me to weep
    You caused me to mourn
You caused me to leave my home"
My Daddy was a railroad man
Killed a mile and half from here
He's head was found in the drivers wheel
And his body ain't never been found ....

Black girl black girl don't ya lie to me
Tell me where did you sleep last night
In the pines in the pines where the sun never shines
And I shivered the whole night through ........

    A band from Belgium.

    Believe

Bravely I look further than I see
Knowing things I know I cannot be, not now
I'm so awared of where I am,
But I don't know where that is
And there's something right in front of me and I

Touch the fingers of my hand
And I wonder if it's me
Holding on and on to Theories of prosperity
    Someone who can promise me
    I believe in me

Tomorrow I was nothing, yesterday I'll be
Time has fooled me into thinking it's a part of me
Nothing in this room but empty space
No mean, no world, no mind, no faith

Touch the fingers of my hand
And tell me if it's me
Holding on and on to Love,
    what else is real
A religion that appeals to me
    I believe in me

Can you turn me off, just a second please
turn me into something faceless, weightless, mindless, homeless,
    Vacuum state of peace
    On and on...
    I believe in me

Wait for me, I'm nothing on my own
I'm willing to go on, but not alone not now
I'm so awared of everything, but nothing seems for real and
As long as you're in front of me then
I'll watch the fingers of our hands
And I'm greateful that's in me
    Holding on and on...

    I believe in me

    CREED-Don't Stop Dancing

    Don't Stop Dancing
At times life is wicked and I just can't
    see the light
A silver lining sometimes isn't enough
To make some wrongs seem right
    Whatever life brings
    I've been through everything
And now I'm on my knees again

But I know I must go on
Although I hurt I must be strong
Because inside I know that many
    feel this way

    Children don't stop dancing
    Believe you can fly
    Away...away

At times life's unfair and you know
    it's plain to see
Hey God I know I'm just a dot in
    this world
    Have you forgot about me?
    Whatever life brings
    I've been through everything
And now I'm on my knees again

But I know I must go on
Although I hurt I must be strong
Because inside I know that many
    feel this way

Am I hiding in the shadows?
Forget the pain and forget the sorrows

But I know I must go on
Although I hurt I must be strong
Because inside I know that many
    feel this way

    Children don't stop dancing
    Believe you can fly
    Away...away

Am I hiding in the shadows?
Are we hiding in the shadows?

Simon and Garfunkel wrote some of the most beautiful music. This was never released as a single but it's on their greatest hits album. It's a hauntingly beautiful piece of music.

For Emily, Wherever I May Find Her

What I dream I had, dressed in organdy
Clothed in crinoline, of smoky Burgundy
    Softer than the rain

I wandered empty streets, down past the shop displays
I heard cathedral bells, tripping down the alley ways
    As I walked on

And when you ran to me your cheeks flushed with the night
We walked on frosted fields of juniper and lamplight
    I held your hand

And when I awoke and felt you warm and near
I kissed your honey hair with my grateful tears
    Oh I love you, girl

    Oh, I love you
