Leaking bladder and no urine after catheterization

    Hi,
I am 37 yrs old, female from India, C5-6 injured from 2003.
Doing Intermittent cauterization since 04. Hardly have faced any urine infection/fever etc

Suddenly from last 2 days, urine is starting is to leak when bladder is not even full. I immediately do catheter after leakage and could see hardly 20/30 ml urine, yellowish. This leakage happening every 10-15 min, so its crazy.

Also while urine is leaking, there is a strange kind of sweating and goosebumps.
Need help, guidance. Please share your experiences.

Are you taking any anticholenergic medications for your bladder?
When did you last have urodynamics studies done?
    Have you contacted your urologist?

The SCI-Nurses are advanced practice nurses specializing in SCI/D care. They are available to answer questions, provide education, and make suggestions which you should always discuss with your physician/primary health care provider before implementing. Medical diagnosis is not provided, nor do the SCI-Nurses provide nursing or medical care through their responses on the CareCure forums.

    Is it sign of UTI?
Also want to add that I feel some inflammation inside stomach, though my sensations are not great.
And so pain or say strain on 2 sides of lower back now.

Yes, you could have a UTI with those symptoms, the low back pain may indicate kidney involvement. Are you running a fever?

You should be having urodynamics done every 2 years. Contact your urologist ASAP and get an appointment. Request that you get urodynamics done. It sounds like your bladder has changed (not uncommon) and you may have both a high pressure bladder and a lot of uninhibited bladder spasms. While you are at it, get screened (ultrasound) for urinary stones as well.

    Hello nurse,
apologies for not being able to reply
I consulted Urologist, get ultrasound done and found a big 4.2 cm calculus/stone in bladder. Got it removed a month back and now all problems seem to have resolved.
No leakage. No pain. Back to normal routine. Touch wood.

    Thank you for your guidance
