It's not the technology at fault, it's today's society blindly absorbing the marketing of technology. ALL ads on TV or in print are an attempt to manipulate (not fully inform) you out of your cash. Marketing is being subliminally and/or directly injected into our brains constantly.

Vehicle owners manuals tell in a confusing/legal manner of the limitations of vehicle features. You never hear these limitations in ads and most never fully read owners manuals.
For the mature that can afford high tech, they are being dumbed down due to less use of analogy or reasoning that our brain requires (feed the brain). This is the legacy being passed down to their heirs, making them even dumber. AI and technology are good but many are over dependant on it. It's making us dumber, lazier, and out of touch with reality.
