Thread: Clear Urine

My feet, ankles, and legs stay swollen all the time. What is causing the mucus?

  2. #12
Yes it is clear in color, with no smell, and mucus in it.

Compression hose are a much better way to manage peripheral edema like this, without the side effects of diuretics like Lasix.

Mucous is caused by something (bacteria, catheters, stones, inflammation) irritating your bladder, ureter, or kidney mucosa. Mucosa is the lining of the interior walls of these organs.

you need to get a culture and sensitivity done to maybe determine the cause of the mucous if that shows no answers you need to be tested for both bladder and kidney stones

How do you drain your bladder? cath. Mucous periodically- white, milky looking- can be semen or prostatic fluid. usually irritation from catheter on the prostate or just a normal occurrence

I have a superpubic catheter. I've had it for over 17yrs.
I have a lot of pain in my calf muscles and hamstrings. Calves feel like they are being squeezed and hamstrings feel like a streched out rubber band being plucked.
