God Bless the colostomy users for xmas

    Sincerely, I admire you guys.
Personally i live and die each day from the success or otherwise by my bowel regimen. I fucking hate it. I'm hi quad, can't care for a colo bag myself, and my aides would fuck it up entirely. Transfers, showering, dressing time would destroy it.
i barely survive with an SP tube.
If I can't shit daily I suffer and when I do I still suffer. Poop time = hell. If it's not loose, it's not coming out and trapped gas kills me. Spend my days doubled over in pain.
I get maybe 2 - 3 days per month feeling good.

Most of us who have had the surgery done felt the same way you did before doing it. I used to say I'd rather die than have a colostomy. Once death reared it's ugly face because of the symptoms like yours, I had to have it done. Best thing I've done considering the alternative.

Jingle Bow3ls back at you! While you or your aides are busy trying to finish off the bowel program; we have changed out the bags in 5 minutes and are drinking eggnog by the tree. I hope it gets better Tim.

Man! Give yourself a nice Christmas gift: choose to ooze!

I'm T12 para. Got mine 6 yrs ago when I needed a flap near the poop chute.
What a relief! Don't need a TV in the bathroom anymore! Freeing.
If your attendants could fuck up dealing with a baggie, you need different attendants!

And, the ooze part? Only because it rhymes! Usually it's just shaking out little swedish meatballs-neat!

I don't understand how many more positive testimonials or examples of successful colostomys you need to hear, by all levels of SCI, before you give it a try.

I'm still inter-catheter in the dink finger in the stink. Mon, Wed, Fri. Gives me nightmares. Life robbing two hour mornings. Without these two things to deal with, sci life wouldn't be nearly the headache it is. I'll go YouTube the bag method just to see why thus far I've done the life robbing method way.

If I could do it myself, I would.

I second that! I'm a c3c4 quad. I believe your aides could handle it. 5 minute bag change vs 2-4 hour bowel care routine. Just do it!

I had to find a new hobby to take up the time gained by not sitting on the pot for hours everyday.
