Heterotropic Ossification ??? Extra Bone growth around hips

Is it common for spinal cord injury patients to have extra bone growth around paralyzed limbs? If yes what the reasons and preventions of it.

Maybe not common, but not uncommon. Last I heard nobody is sure quite why it happens. To prevent it you should avoid SCI. There’s not (really) any effective treatment. At least not any curative treatment.
