    Question Quickie S646-SE motor rebuilding?

Does anyone have info about rebuilding the motors on the 646? I am certain the motors can be rebuilt. They're just electric motors.

I have Googled around trying to find info about doing it and came up empty. There are companies that will do it. But I don't want to send it across the country, pay hundreds and wait 3-4 weeks. I have friends that could do it if the instructions were available.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

How extensive of a rebuild are you suggesting?

It's one thing to replace brushes. Another thing, entirely, to rebuild the gearbox or replace the bearings.

And, all bets are off (IME) if the stator and armature have come into physical contact with each other...

Have you priced replacement/surplus motors? (with or without gearboxes)

This place has is pretty popular: http://eurtonelectric.com/

I see used ones on eBay go really cheap. Just be aware that there are varying specs, but anyone will interchange. Even Quickie 222 motors can interchange.

Called a electric motor rebuilder company locally(OKC) and cost was about $400 each. Most local places said did not do medical equipment and couple said they did not deal with that small of a motor.
If you just need brushes, think most you have someone with good hand use they can do petty easy, mostly screw, spring to brush.
Rewind motor you will need someone with knowledge and if it's gearbox problem is another can of worms.
