    travel toilet seat

hi everyone, does anyone know of a travel toilet seat available? im think of something like the top of my shower chair with a hole in the middle and the cutout at the front but also stands off the toilet bowl about 2 - 3 inches, i was thinking of making one as that would be all i would need i think, instead of trying to take a full commode away with me, any info or ideas would be great thanks

Many people use this one for travel (and regular use at home). It is padded, and fits most (but not all) toilets. You remove the "spray" skirt and discard that to allow easy access for bowel care.

Some use a over-toilet bench that is suitable for travel, like this one from Activaide:

When traveling with my mother, we used a Chameleon rolling shower/commode chair that is not available in the USA, but I believe is widely available in Europe (Italian made). It packs small for travel:

I use one very similar to that activaif one. It is absolutely massive (and by that I mean about 18” x 18” x 8” when you break it down. But once I found a suitcase big enough to hold it, the suitcase definitely had enough room to bring everything else I need for a trip.

thanks for the info, the first one you linked was kind of what i had in mind very similar, but if its raised to high im then wondering about my feet as i lean on my knees to reach right under if you know what i mean and if they are dangling i wont be able to put any pressure on them, the second one looks ok and could work just depends on the clearance around whatever toilet you use.

I have the ActiveAid seat. I had an upholstery shop make a soft case for it. You have to watch out for high toilet seats in ADA rooms in most hotels now because they limit your a**hole access, even when the portable seat is in the highest position.

I used one like this for years. https://www.sportaid.com/premium_pla...ated-seat.html

The clamps can be unscrewed from the base to give it a lower profile when packing. It fits "most" toilet shapes, but not all.

I've never had one flip off. It's fairly sturdy when clamped on.

If you have poor trunk stability or balance, a simple raised toilet seat is not going to be safe for you. Better to get an over-the-toilet commode chair with swing away arms.
