    Saving my shoulders and back

    KLD,

You left the a reply somewhere in a forum about different Ceiling Track systems. Unfortunately can't find it and was wondering where if you could find it or could get pictures or websites or the best way to find information of the major systems.

While I was searching notice you mentioned eBay and was wondering how I would go about searching and using which keywords to used in searching for one.

If anybody on here has any experience or recommendations for a harness and/or a track running 8' to go from bed and in and out of the shower. It does not need to be automatic or remote control, just so I don't have to do all the wet transfers.

    Thank you,

    Cris

These companies are those which are most active in home ceiling track lift installations. Arjo-Huntleigh and Liko (Hill-Rom) specialize in institutional installations, so I have not included them (I believe BHM was bought out by Arjo-Huntleigh):

    Guldmann: https://www.guldmann.com/int/product...-hoist-systems

    Barrier Free: http://www.barrierfreelifts.com/

    SureHands: https://www.surehands.com/home/

    BHM: https://motionspecialties.com/produc...-ceiling-lifts

    Prism Medical (formerly Waverly-Glen): http://www.prismmedicalinc.com/patie...ing-lifts.html

You can contact the companies to find out which ones have a dealer/installer in your local area. I would strongly encourage you to purchase one that has local support, as the systems need regular maintenance, and you need someone who can provide quick service for any repairs.

As far as eBay, I have always found those available by just searching for "ceiling track lift". If you search for "patient lift" you may find these, but also a lot of floor based mobile lifts.

The SCI-Nurses are advanced practice nurses specializing in SCI/D care. They are available to answer questions, provide education, and make suggestions which you should always discuss with your physician/primary health care provider before implementing. Medical diagnosis is not provided, nor do the SCI-Nurses provide nursing or medical care through their responses on the CareCure forums.
